Are Meta Ads a Waste of Money?

Most of us would agree that setting up your Meta campaign can be a pain in the ass, yes.
You face 11 campaign objectives that consolidate into 6, and after that choice, you're met with a HUGE list of options that you probably have no idea what they actually do…
Some of them matter very little, but others can truly affect the outcome of what we are trying to achieve here.
It feels like you're trying to defuse a bomb in a room full of people.
It’s not like Meta is unaware of this.
It is a billion-dollar company (Yeah, with a “B”), so my guess is that they have some smart people walking around those big offices.
So, these people came up with an almost magical solution for this:
The “BOOST” button.
Time To “BOOST” Your Wallets Empty!
And this might as well be their slogan…
Meta saw that people struggled to use their Meta advertising tool, so they decided to create a more user-friendly alternative.
A single button you can press on anything you post and turn it into an “ad” without having to actually set up a campaign and deal with their complex settings.
And this would be amazing...
...If It actually worked.
In reality, you simply pay to “Boost” your post in front of a handful more random Meta accounts that you have no idea who they actually are…
And while most people seem excited to never have to deal with the Meta Ads tool again…
…I stand here to tell you that you are missing everything that makes Meta such a great way to find clients for your business.
-You’re limited to only the post types that exist for organic posts.
-You can’t effectively target a particular audience based on an action you want them to take.
-You can’t add square photos, change, or customize the headline or description.
-You can’t run the ad on both Facebook and Instagram.
It’s like trying to run Le Mans in a Seicento.
Yeah, it moves forward, but I’m positive it’s not the best vehicle for the race.
So here’s what you have to do if you want to stop throwing money hand over fist into the fire:
STOP “BOOSTING” THINGS!
Unless you hate money. In which case, you should always boost your posts.
How to NOT...
...Run Meta Ads
TV advertising, influencer marketing, billboards—even radio ads (when those were still a thing)—all require huge amounts of money to set up and publish.
And that’s not even the worst thing…
…You have no idea if they are actually going to work or not.
Meta Ads are different.
You have complete control over when to start and when to stop your ad campaign.
You choose how much money you spend, how long it runs, and who sees it…
Plus, you don’t need to spend a fortune to start getting clients in. You can see results even if you have a small budget.
Don’t get me wrong—this still needs an investment.
I’ve had people say to me:
“It’s not working for me…”
“I’ve been doing it since X and still haven’t got enough results.”
“I barely got any clients from it…”
And guess what?
They let me check their campaign settings to see if there’s anything wrong.
Most of them have been spending around $1 per day—or even less.
These people expected to get flooded with clients while spending less on their ads than they do on coffee…
Our goal is to get you $2 for every $1 you spend on ads. This is easily doable for any business, including yours.
